Daylight Saving - its now time for South Africa to follow suit
For several months every year, daylight saving time (DST) affects well over a billion people in 70 countries throughout the world.
Yet most people switch their clocks backward and forward without ever understanding where this revolutionary idea came from or how, throughout its history, DST has led to surprisingly contentious clashes between numerous politicians, scientists, and interest groups all across the globe.
Daylight Saving times proposed:
Start: 01h59.59 1st Sunday in September
End: 02h59.59 1st Sunday in April

It is ridiculous that almost every modern country in the world has daylight saving in summer and yet this is not even on the agenda in SA. I suggest u take this issue to social media pages like Twitter, Facebook, etc. Start a debate free of charge.

DST should definitely be used here in South Africa. Will probably save many lives by people using their paraffin less.

With all the light we have in summer, and how "early" the sun sets, DST would be awesome. An extra hour of light every day in summer! Like Amsterdam at 10 at night... ;-)
