Daylight Saving - its now time for South Africa to follow suit

For several months every year, daylight saving time (DST) affects well over a billion people in 70 countries throughout the world.

Yet most people switch their clocks backward and forward without ever understanding where this revolutionary idea came from or how, throughout its history, DST has led to surprisingly contentious clashes between numerous politicians, scientists, and interest groups all across the globe.

Daylight Saving times proposed:

Start: 01h59.59 1st Sunday in September
End: 02h59.59 1st Sunday in April

We must introduce daylight saving. The politicians must somehow be persuaded to try this out. What harm can be done if it is tried out for a year. We are being requested to save electricity. Daylight saving will do this automatically.

This is a great idea. Think of all the electricity saving at night on lighting when most households use the most energy on cooking, bathing, etc

South Africa should most definitely consider daylight saving. Daylight saving would give us South Africans more time to play our sports and spend time with our family in the afternoon and twilight. I support daylight saving in SA with all my heart

This idea makes perfect sense, from an energy savings as well as a lifestyle perspective. Why hasn't it been implemented yet?!
