Daylight Saving - its now time for South Africa to follow suit

For several months every year, daylight saving time (DST) affects well over a billion people in 70 countries throughout the world.

Yet most people switch their clocks backward and forward without ever understanding where this revolutionary idea came from or how, throughout its history, DST has led to surprisingly contentious clashes between numerous politicians, scientists, and interest groups all across the globe.

Daylight Saving times proposed:

Start: 01h59.59 1st Sunday in September
End: 02h59.59 1st Sunday in April

D.S may be fine for W. Cape. You can then follow the time zones of Angola & Namibia. For the rest of the country, it's a complete no-brainer. It's bad enough to wake up in the dark in winter. I see no sense in doing it in summer as well!!

... So when will this be implemented ... ?

It would, in my opinion, not only extend leisure hours but would vastly increase productivity and thereby the general economy.

As clocks are about to change in the Northern Hemisphese I note how early the sun rises and what a difference it would make next week when it rises an hour later (seemingly). We have just 6 months before SA needs this!!
