Daylight Saving - its now time for South Africa to follow suit

For several months every year, daylight saving time (DST) affects well over a billion people in 70 countries throughout the world.

Yet most people switch their clocks backward and forward without ever understanding where this revolutionary idea came from or how, throughout its history, DST has led to surprisingly contentious clashes between numerous politicians, scientists, and interest groups all across the globe.

Daylight Saving times proposed:

Start: 01h59.59 1st Sunday in September
End: 02h59.59 1st Sunday in April

Great idea. I'm originally from the U.K. and appreciate what DST can do.

Definitely 2 time zones would be most efficient. If daylight saving can work in Namibia why can't it work here? Durbs & Joburg being 1 hour ahead of Cape Town would mean the power load being split both am and pm! Sunset at 9.30pm what a pleasure!
